Ram Air

I purchase a march Ram Air a while back when i had my 351 on my horse, but now Im finishing my 306 and im on 50|50 if i should put the ram air back. the reason is because when car is on idle it feels like it needs more air specialy if you do quick accelerations and no air is raming yet until car is moving. My opinion is the ram air is only good when car is moving, not when u are ready to launch at a race track at 3000rpm. I may be wrong! what you guys think keep it or remove it ?? Thanks for ur help

Yea you have to be moving alright, about 80-90 MPH! for the ramair to actually work, cold air is always good though.
If you drive it daily, i wouldnt use it, unless you want water in your engine, possibly dead birds ect...........but anyway good luck.

"Ram Air" is a misleading name. It's nothing more than a cold air intake. In your car, the air being sucked in by the engine will always be more than the force of air "ramming" in. There will always be a vacuum at the point where the engine gets it's air.

That being said, cold air is always better than warm air, but the stock set up is a cold air intake.

:)

Take care,
