Best alum. rad.?
im looking for the best overall alum radiator for my 92 lx i have a black magic fan so i would like to keep the use of this fan, my friend bought some alum radiator (dont remeber the name) the salesmaan said is was for a fox body mustang and well it didnt fit(extreme hood clearance prob.) so i dont want this to happend to me and i also dont want to pay out the butt for one either
any help would be greatly appreciated it would be great if i didnt have to modify anything to get it in oh yeah its a 5 speed so no need for tranny cooler |
I like the Ford Motorsports unit. Like what come on a 93 Cobra.. Just my opinion.. Best bud is cooling a 460 in a fox body with one.

I have a Griffin 27 x 19 aluminum radiator. $180 from Summit. Cools like nobody's business.

I got a fluidyne alum. radiator about 3 or 4 years ago for a fox mustang..bolted up using the existing mounts and shroud and everything bolts right up to it. Cools great my guage never goes above 180*. I think I paid $260 or so for it but it can be fixed if it ever has a problem I belive a lot of the alum. radiators have a sort of epoxy on them that makes them hard to repair should something happen to it.

what size fluidyne rad did u get?
|
I pulled out the receipt and it just said for 79-93 mustang so I dunno about the exact size. Sorry.
and oh yeah it was about $300 I paid for it, not $260 |
go with either the griffen rad or mabe even check out the summit rad's...griffen's rads have epoxy and summits are welded

I use the Fluidyne and absolutely love it out here in the desert where it can get to be 105-110* in the summer. I have had it 1 1/2 yrs now, and its actually my 2nd one. The 1st one got a pin hole leak in it, I called AMP Performance who I bought it through, and had a new one sent to me before I sent the old one back. Had it replaced for free. I believe they have a lifetime warranty with them, but not sure. Might be something to check out. Can't go wrong with it though if you ask me.

I also have the Griffin circle track rad, the 31x19. It's awesome and I'd highly recommend it to anyone. The Summit is a great deal also, both in the zone of $180.
