Rocker Arm Stud Removal
Hello,
I was wondering if anyone here knew of a tool for removing pressed-in rocker arm studs. According to my local machine shop, the price of rebuilding my heads goes up because of this. I'd rather do the removal myself and have them rebuild the heads at that point. Any info would be great, thanks! |
Rocker stud removal.
Since the correct tool to do this will cost you more than the shop charges, I'd let them do it. However, if you want to try the cheap way out, after removing heads and rockers, stack washers over a stud, apply a little grease to top washer, put nut on stud. Tighten nut to pull stud. You'll have to add washers 2 or 3 times on each stud. If you have "bottle neck" studs, and break the tops off, you are hozed and the shop should/will charge more.
