When installing a new hood can you reuse the old inner lining to protect the paint???

I have a project car I'm working on at a shop and we purchased a 95 cobra R hood and it came with no heat gaurd lining under the hood so its just metal on both sides so can we rip off the lining under the old hood on a 96 and install it under our 95 cause without that all the paint will peal cause of the heat so I've been told, thanks

Far as I know you can. You can also buy insulation that sticks on. and you can cut it to fit.
