rim fused to rotor (long)
 

Has anyone had this happen and what did you do.

I was checking tires and noticed that the front drivers side was way out of alignment and the inside was riped to cr@p so i decided to grab the still good goodyear gator backs from the basement(95% tread 89 stock tires have only been on the car to get other tires ) went out front got my son to go grab jack stands and the floor jack. car whent up nuts came off rim wont budge , spray inside studs with liquid wrench grab my prybar and the rim wont move. even tried a stupid thing dropped the car slowly with out the nuts on hopeing the weight of the car might break the rim off no good hit the studs and had the studs coming out. as the car is out front and not in the garage Amber is pissed at me and wants me to finish tommorow but i am frustrated i dont want to damage the rim prying it off but cant think of anything else .

i dont know what wheel you have but if you can get to the hub take the rotor of the spindle then try to seperate them maybe never heard of this before

Get a Big F-ing Hammer and bang on the tire from the inside...not the rim, and spin the tire slowly while you beat on it. This always works.

I had to just stomp the heck out of one with kicking the outer edge of the tire with my heel. Once you get it off, put a thin coating of grease on the hub and wheel to keep the corrosion down in the future.

I guess not driving it that often does have its down side.

once I got it off there was a corrosion line right around the outside of the hub.

and yes i already put never sieze on it.

I've had this happen to me on my '94 4Runner on the back. The inside of the wheel freezes to the hub (drum brakes). I've had to pound the tire with a big mallet while rotating the wheel for quite a while before they would come off.

Never seize works sort of well. If nothing else, take a Roto tool or a small grinder and reduce the size of the spindle area to give yourself more clearance (not on your $ wheels). It can prevent a lot of frustration if you get a flat out on the road late at night.

Put the lug nuts back on a little loose. Then jack up the car and let it fall down. Wheels should come loose. Or shake the car back and forth on the ground/nutz loose.
