It doesn't take a true ford person to mic the bores and measure the deck height.

Have you tried the parts/service folks at the Ford dealership?

you need the numbers that start with a letter... like c8 etc.. usually on the block, it's by where the starter mounts.. head numbers are under the intake ports on the block side..

I looked for the numbers you posted for quite a while on the internet and came up with nothing.

Here is an example of casting numbers: D4AE 6015 AA. C=60's, D=70's, E=80's, F=90's. 4=74, A=full size car, E= engine plant, 6015=basic casting number # for 8cyl. engine blocks, AA=revisions. I couldn't find my book, I must have loaned it out and forgot about it. But your casting number should be something like the above example. All this is off the top of my head, so don't hold it against me. As for the heads, got me. I can't remember anything to point you in the right direction.

Oh yeah, the 6F26 is June 26, 19?6. I know this probably isn't much help, but it is a start.

Haul it to a local machine shop and have them check the bores and deck height. You could also figure the stroke from the crankshaft if you have it.
