tuning?!?!?!

OK the motor is in and has about 200miles on it... im am starting the fine tuning process well i know i am ruinning low fuel pressure (about 2psi above stock) and the timing is at about 12* but the air:fuel gauge looks fine under no load but when i am driving it bounces back and forth between lean and rich all the time... what is going on.... what is the gauge supposed to be at during idil anf WOT????
thanks
se sig (NO 24lbsERS YET!!!)

Under WOT the gauge should read one to three notches into the green LEDs. Under normal driving the gauge will bounce back and forth between red (lean) and green (rich). It's no big deal really, it's just the gauge. A true air/fuel ratio gauge would read the outputs all the time (or very close to it) while our gauge (autometer) takes a reading then pauses, takes a reading then pauses, etc.

I think the true air/fuel gauges are a little more expensive than the autometers.

The nice thing is that under WOT you can get an idea of whether or not you are running lean/stoich/rich.

Hope this helps,
E

Patrick - Your adjustable FPR will basically only affect WOT. If it's reading rich at WOT, turn the FPR down until it's reading just barely rich. Idle and cruising the computer adjusts according to the O2 sensor readings.
