87vs 89+
I'm looking at an 87 GT, I was wondering is there advantages and disadvantages to say an 87 GT vs a 90 GT.
I know after 89 they had mass air sensors but is that it. |
differences
well there are not many differences but the 87 as you mentioned has speed density, high back bucket seats, weaker tranny then again they are all weak compared to the 93 T5. The 90 does not have a center armrest in the console, it has an airbag, no tilt steering wheel, no low fuel gauge, little bit better ring package on the pistons the new low tension ring package, try and stay away from the 93 up cars they have the hyper-pathetic piston, I am no big fan of these. I can't think of any other major differences.

The only other things I can think of that the '90 has that the '87 doesn't have, are rear seat shoulder belts, and map pockets on the door panels.
BTW (useless trivia), did you know that during the production run of the '89 Mustang, from 8/31/88 through 9/5/89, the factory at Dearborn cranked out 46 new Mustangs an hour, every hour? That's a lot of parts cars, gentlemen. :D |

The 87 is faster than the 89 and probably cheaper.
Who needs mass air:confused: |
Ford made slight revisions on the cams every year too, with 87 being the "fastest" and going downhill from there, you won't notice any difference however.
