24# injectors
Gentlemen, this is a great forum! Hopefully someone can answer a question. Have an EFI in a Cobra kit car. Engine runs strong. The right sidepipe is a lot hotter than the left. All I can think of is clogged injectors. They are #19. I have GT40P heads, cam, Cobra intake. The injectors are 14 years old and I want to replace them anyway. If I go with #24, is that all I have to change? No new fuel rail, fuel pump? The EEC wil automatically correct? Thanks in advance,

You will need a mass air sensor that is recalibrated for 24# injectors.
I would just get new 19# injectors. |
Dark, thanks for the reply. So, What is involved in the calibration of the Mass air? When does a person need to go to #24? I'm happy to get #19 if that's more than enough. I don't plan on adding any more goodys. Just a gear change.

I am not sure whats invoved in the recalibration process. You are well within the range of the 19# injectors.
|
ditto, your 19lbers are more than enough I have a two sets, the set that just came off the 95 only have 35k miles on them and I have them in the plastic protectors, email me if you wanna buy them from me. I am sure you can find them real cheap on Ebay too.

19s are good to almost 400hp. You may want to install a adjustable fuel pressure regulator while you have the rails off. It is a good tunning item.

I don't know - I guess I have to chime in differently. First I'd like to know for sure the hot pipe is due to injectors.
Secondly, I think you could benefit from 24s. You've got the heads, cam and intake upgraded. Add an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, set it at about 42 psi at WOT and you should be cookin' with gas. Yes you'd have to get that MAF meter recalibrated or upgraded too. Just my 2 pennies. |
Bigger injectors yeild absolutely no benifit unless you have outgrown the ones you had.
He needs to run about 44 psi on the 19#ers. I thought the same thing his problem probably isnt the injectors. |
I run stock injectors at 43 psi which got me into 12's last week, do you guys think i need 24's also.
Calibrating the maf depends on which maf you have, the c&l requires just a sample tube swap, you can buy them from summitt. mrpink sounds like a nice little toy you got der. |
Well I was 3250lb and ran 12.17 @ 112 which is not 400hp but was with 19lb injectors at 40psi.
