Igniton question

Ok, i am putting a 302 into my 1984 RX7. I am waiting for my engine so i decided to buy some of the small things. I am converting the engine from EFI to carb and i need to know what MSD ignition system i should use.
Here is a list of what i have

1990ish 302(still waiting for arrival)
edlebrock 600cfm carb
electric fule pump
bbk shorty headers
40 series, 2 chamber flowmasters
Edlebrock Manifold
***I plan on a cam swap along with porting my stock heads until i can afford a set of trickflows**

Ok, i need a ocmplete ignition system. I was thinking the MSD 6AL, with an msd Blaster HVC II coil, and a Street Pro-Billet Distributor. Does this sound like a good system? Am i missing anything?

Thanks, Tom

Awhile back I had a 82 Capri with I put a 87 5.0, ported the heads, B Cam, RPM intake and 650 holley. I put an old 4 speed in there and it ran low 13 in 1/4. I used 85 GT dist. it had the steel gear to work with roller cam. There are a lot better cams to use now. It sounds like youre going in right direction. Ive heard good things about that dist, I'm going to getting one for my 90 soon. You didn't say if the xr7 was carb or TB. If it was tb make sure to take FI fuel pump off

It was carbed. That is another question i have. Should i add a low volume electric inline to work with my stock pump?

if youre using a 90 5.0, the timing cover will not be machined for a mechanical FP and there will be no ecentric on the cam either. You'll have to use an electric fp. If youre planing to up hp later get a good one w/regulator. Holley, Mallory, Barry Grant all have good street pumps.
