bigger injectors hurt anything?
if you put bigger injectors like 24's on a stock or slightly modified engine will it harm anything?? or, does it just mean that more fuel can flow through them? i know more fuel wouldn't flow without a bigger pump & reg., but my friend is about to order the same MAF i have (C&L 76mm) and he wants to eventually super trick out his '90 stang. he wants to buy the MAF calibarated for 24's now so he doesn't have to buy new ones later... so... if he bought the MAF and 24's now, what would happen??

It might hurt him a little down low. Those 24lb injectors will feed a lot more fuel than he needs. And on a stock engine a 76mm MAF is WAY overkill. It's all going to get bottlenecked at the throttle body anyway if it's stock (and it should be on a stock engine unless it's small like the FMS 65mm). Tell him to save his money for important things like heads, a cam, or an intake and THEN do the MAF and throttle body.

gt350's right, usually bigger injectors are needed when serious power is being made, head work, big cam durations and overlap, forced induction, sometimes for safety reasons like the use of nitrous, or high reving motors, but l don't think he'll lose much if anything with somewhat bigger injectors, he might lose a little down low like gt350 said, but if he's looking to do some upgrades in the future theyre a good start

I feel I wasted a lot of money going from 19's to 24's to 30's and now to 36's if I put on heads. Plan where you want to ultimately be with your mods and get the injector that will safely put you there.

24# injectors paired with a properly calibrated MAF will work just fine. You shouldn't lose any power because of it. You won't gain power from it, either. Your idle will probably produce more emissions. Essentially, it's a waste of money at this point to get the MAF calibrated for 19s or 24s. Does your friend have gears? Exhaust? Better shifter? Those are the things he should spend his money on first.

Like jimberg said, it won't help or hurt at this point. And, like blown95gt said it's all about where you're planning on ending up.

I put 24lb injectors with a calibrated 77mm MAM and to tell you the truth, i didn't feel a change. Bad or Good. I lost some gas mileage which annoys me, but its up to you. I'm gonna take them out and put the stock stuff back on to see if i run slower/faster. I say get them, but keep your old stuff. If it hurts you now in some sort of way, put the stocks back on then when you modify your car more, put them back on.

You really shouldn't have lost any gas mileage unless you idle a lot. How much did you lose?
