How much is the average header install from a shop???

Just wonderin, I'm getting some shorty headers for my 96 gt and its a direct replacement to the H-pipe I have so I'm hoping its not too much for an install. I should go longtubes but cant afford the new mid-pipe and stuff I'm lookin for some extra ponies with these headers with my flows and high-flow H-pipe and stuff, thanks!!!!

Depends on the car and what area of the country. Had a buddy here with a 98 Cobra and they wanted $900. I know a GT and Cobra are different but this is the best I can tell ya. When I put my headers on my Cobra I am doing myself. Best of Luck and post some sound clips if you can.

$900! Wow! I knew it wouldn't be a cheap job, but I would have never expected it to be near that much.

96_4.6 - Just call around to a few shops and start getting quotes. Most will do that over the phone.

$50/hr

I think you can get decent work for $50/hr. I wouldn't expect more than 4-5 hrs. if everything fits. Of course new gaskets, donuts, etc. are extra parts.
