'87 351, noisy lifter, high idle.

Can I do the old take the rocker arm off and compressed air through the pushrod trick on this motor?
What do I retorque the rocker retaining nut to?
This is the first time I have messed with 351 as you can tell, but I have the noisy lifter isolated on the driver's side.
Also, it is carb'd and I know jack about carbs other than it has a float, and a idle screw. I am going to try and adjust the timing a la 302 to see if I can get the idle fixed.

Thanks in advance...

solved...

The timing was around 18*, re-set it at the factory 10* BTDC and it idles fine.
The valve/lifter noise is negligible and until/unless I have any secondary indications of a problem, I am not going to worry about it.
In fact, it is quieter than my B-cam/valve train on my stang.
