World Class T5: Tell me about it

I've done a search but can't find specifics on the World Class T5. Could someone tell me about this transmission? Power handling, quality, etc. For a Fox mustang 87-93.

http://www.coolcats.net/tech/advanced/t5data.html Check out that website, it's got T-5 info for all of the different years.

Which one is the World Class T5? I don't know anything about T5 transmissions. I know T45s from when I had my 96 but nothing about T5s. Is a World Class an aftermarket tranny or what? My understanding is that it is aftermarket and better than stock but I don't know to what extent it is better than stock.

I think the term "world class" gets used pretty losely. I think originally it may have been an aftermarket tranny that was stronger than the stock unit. But, Ford began putting a world class T-5 in the Mustang, although I can't remember what year. I think I have some info on it that I will try to dig up for you when I get home.

The term world class is used pretty loosely, but in general it refers to (IIRC) the post 89 t-5 that was in the 5.0. The main difference was that it was rated for slightly more HP and torque. Something like a 5-10 lb difference. I wanna say it was like 300lbs/tq vs 310, dont remember the hp. There are "aftermarket" forms of the t-5 too, like the t-5z which is a "heavy duty" version rated for more power. Also, (someone correct me if I'm wrong) the t-5's used in the 93 cobra had different internal gearing.
I was looking for the references to the above, but my favs are a mess, I'll keep looking.
