Tire size?

Hey gang, I have an 87 GT with the original stock rims on it. Does anyone know what the biggest tires I could put on the back are? Also will anything wider than 60's fit those rims? Thanks.

I'd say 275/50/15, but there'd be lots of tire bulge.

If you're gonna put big tires on the stock rims, you should probably stay around 245/60/15 or 245/50/15 (if they make that).

If you get 15x8" rims or anything bigger(preferably a little wider than 8, like 8.5 or 9"), you can get the BFG 275/50/15s (for back).

Thanks Fox Body, the 245's sound good. Don't have money for new rims right now and I don't want the tires to bulge. I guess the most important thing I was wondering is if 50's would fit those rims? Also if they would rub or most importantly look stupid cause they stick out. Would 50's stick out of the fenderwell? Thanks.
