would you stroke a 302 or just swap in a 351
i am doing a paper for my english class about this subject.
|
i'd swap in the 351...
but i'd stroke that one too!
|
What are the parameters we're dealing with? Cost? Intended purpose?

The reason most people stroke a 302 instead of going the 351 route is you can reuse everything from your 302 on the stroker.
I would stroke a 302 so I could reuse my intake etc... |
ya i have the cost difference and a parts list going into the paper. i also list some cons and pros of each.

Maybe in a couple of years. Gotta pay back some of this $$$ I've borrowed for my edumacation. I hope they done learned me good for all the pokes I've emptied to recompensiate for it'd. :) --nathan |
I'm actually in the process of deciding between these two choices. It's between a 306 or a 393. There is a little more research to do but I'll probably go with the 393. So I guess my vote is for the 351!

i vote 351w, hand's down. i just love them. but i would bust it out bigger too. :D :D :D :D

Stroke the 302 and keep it under the hood!

Build a stroked 408 with drop mounts and run the stock hood (very possible, I've researched it). Talk about a sleeper. ~Brian

Lately, I'm leaning back toward the 306. It would allow me to keep my little NOVI 1k. I think the 1k would compliment a h/i/c package very well...probably run very deep into the 11's if not high 10's. With a 393, the 1k will be too small and I would have to sell it and then move up to a NOVI 2k (read: new blower = more $$$). I don't plan on buying a block until spring so I have quite a while to go back and forth on this. :) |
I like the 351w. There are additional costs involved, different headers, oil pan, intake. Its not so bad when you start out with a body and have to buy all that stuff anyway like i've done before. I also wouldn't underestimate the power of a 302 stroked to a 347. My last 351W(stock stroke) powered fox body ran 11.18 with a C-6 and a 9" rear. I also keep 351W's in stock for future projects. I see we have so other buckeyes on this post. I am from the Mansfield area.
