Harwood cowl questions???
Im buying a 3in cowl soon, why?
1. i like the looks, 2. could use the weight savings i guess? 3. my stock hood fits loose, squeals and squeaks at idle. Now thats my problem #3, the area on the hood where the latch hooks in, is damaged, it has worn away a groove to where it is cut, and would need to be hammered back into place, then welded on the seam......right now it fits loose, and the only thing holding it shut is the safety thing, that looks like a tongue, (wish i had pics) my question is, does the harwood hood come with everything i need in that area? i know i will have to transfer the latch itself, but im wondering about the strike area on the hood? because i aint using this stock one......thanx for any info on this. |
I'm pretty sure the hood won't come with that peice, but I could be wrong. If yours is that bad you may have to get a new one from Ford.

thanx, but do you know what that piece is called? the part on the underside of the hood that catches the hook? anyone?

I have the Harwood 2-1/2" cowl. It comes with hood latch hardware, but I would NEVER (EVER!) use it without hood pins.

Yea i understand pins are good insurance, but i was told that the harwood hoods are real good quality, and the chances of them flying up are pretty slim, compared to one of those cheap 199$ hoods.
thanx drudis.... |
