Is this true about fuel pumps?

I read in another post on here that no matter what fuel pump you get, the motor will take as much fuel as it needs and any left over goes back in the tank. Is this true? Basically, if you wanted, you could get a 190 pump and it wouldn't affect gas mileage at all if your car is lightly modified? Someone tell me please. Oh well, what is the stock pump ranged at? For a 94 GT that is..

Ya thats true...a 190 is good insurance since the stock pumps suck. I think the stock pump is 88lph, but in 94 they "might" have switched to a 110. I'd like to know that too.

The stock FP is rated at 88 lph.

Yes, the capacity of the pump - no matter how huge - doesn't determine your mpg; the engine components - and how you drive the car - does that.

By the same token, a bigger FP won't help you go any faster if the engine remains exactly the same after the pump install as it was before. You'll just have a bigger capacity FP, which is a good thing, especially if plan future mods.

Yeah like Mr 5.0 said it is good to have the larger fuel pump for future mods. also if you plan on selling your car you can say "Ready for Mods" in the description ++.
