Apparently d00d, you can't tell when someone is being sarcastic. IMO, Duece was being sarcastic in the other thread when he said he had a 69 428SCJ. I think he was just busting your balls a little bit mang. Chill out and drop it already.

b055 11-13-2003 06:59 PM

uhh.. i dont know what he was doing but i damn sure wouldnt claim i had a 69 scj unless i did have one.. anyway i'll give him the benifit of the doubt and still hold my challange open..

ga isnt that far of a pull to race.. especially if i can hitch up with glenn and enjoy the ride!

Ding ding, we have a weiner. An Scj is only such because of the scoop, no other reason. A roots blower would negate the Scoop and so why would I still call it a super cobra jet and not just a cobra jet. Besides that, why whould someone put a roots blower on a carbed car? You'd need a hilborn injection setup at the very least, if not some custom efi conversion. After that, who in their right mind would put the bottle to it.

The combo wouldn't work, that's why it was supposed to be funny. Apparently everyone got it but you...

b055 11-13-2003 11:49 PM

i run a roots blower, 13:1 compression, nitrous, 950hp series holley, and much more.... thats my combo and it works.. now let's hear about your combo???? post real #'s please.. either hp or track times?????????????????? and before u tell me it wont work, try some time turning wrenches on it and see what it does.

also, if it doesnt work , how am I runnign deep into the 5's through the mufflers, on street tires, almost a full weight GT, and state inspected car??????????????

The Deuce 11-13-2003 11:52 PM

is the car carbed?

tireburner163 11-14-2003 12:44 AM

Actully it's a screw supercharger. (Holley 174)

But I've seen carbs on LOTs of roots blown cars, I don't see why you couldn't run one:confused:

MidNiteBlu 5.0 11-14-2003 02:52 AM

do you mean the shaker hood when you say the scoop duece? Because the R- code Cobra Jets had them as well. I think there are differences between the normal Mach 1 CJ's and the SCJ's but im not exactly sure what they are.

b055 11-14-2003 08:59 AM

your asking me if it's carbed... and i just said it had a 950hp holley... hahahahhahaahahahahhahaahahahahahaha

Dark_5.0 11-14-2003 09:24 AM

5's through the 1/8th on street tires you say.

That has got to be a world record of some sort:eek:

How the hell would you ever unleash a 325 shot on street tires?????????????????????

b055 11-14-2003 11:10 AM

unfortunally i'm still not the fastest with this type of car around here... their is a stockish looking 94 gt with a HUGE HUGE HUGE blower on it running 5.2's............... street tires through the mufflers.. and it's QUIET!!!! i raced him for a little money and he WAXED me..

and my tires are ET streets.. street legal but hook

on a roots blower, like the 03 has? the Weiland type is different.

TARZAN 11-14-2003 01:09 PM

C'mon now bo55,

let it go, you now know that the guy was just busting your balls a bit b/c you're a n00bie, and they'll do the same too all new guys, that how you break em in to a new site, you know how it is:D

And yes, he has a Screw style blower on a carbed car, running on ET Streets, so thats what he means by street tire, b/c they are DOT approved.:)

I understany that ppl. think his setups sounds a lil "out there" but believe me, I was sceptical at first, honestly....

But then I rode in it :)

Now, ya'll just all have a good time, and go about your business.

Weiland blowers ARE roots blowers. The 03 Cobra has a screw blower, they same style as a Brad's Holley. I still don't see why a screw blower won't work with a carb:confused:

Only reason I'm doing this is b/c maybe if I reply to ya, this crap can die out and we can all just be friends fellas:D

But he runs Mickey Thompson ET Streets, and those are street tires.:p

I am also as awed as ya'll are, but it doesn't always get good traction. Thing is, when you throw that much power to the rear, it'll make the tires wanna hook ;)

I've seen the car cut below a 1.5 and as high as 1.7's-1.8's alot of it depends on the track.

So, there ya go man:)

BTW, it ain't no record either, the record is probably held by somebody who had a tube-chassis'd, full blown drag car and put some ET street (or some like tire) on it, not sure, but my guess;)

Dark_5.0 11-14-2003 01:58 PM

OK. I call my ET streets slicks but I guess they are DOT approved.

tireburner163 11-14-2003 02:13 PM

yes......quite a bit of DOT aproved tire.....28x13.5's
