Hey guys the last saturday ill break all the gears of my t5 i guess was the oil i was using 140 weigth oil can be that what you thing. Well but ill find other t5 in the yunk its for a 88 mustang with 2.3 4 cylinder engine, and i check the gear relation and ill find that the gears was in 1st. 4.00, 2nd. 2.25, 3rd. 1.33, 4th. 1, 5ft. .75. My other t5 the one who breake have diferents gears 3.25, 1.95,1.33, 1, .75. with that trany my car runs 12.90 and 1.68 in 60 ft. and also i have to change the pilot bearing to making fit the new one t5, there would be any trouble, i have 4.10 in the rear end. what you guys thing about the gears and about the oil that i was using.

DO NOT install that 4cyl tranny in your car. a stock 5.0L will destroy one, let alone a 12second car

btw, you were supposed to use automatic tranny fluid in the T5. big OOPS there!!!

I'll keep that in mind, but I cringe of the thought of you owning it, I just can't see letting anyone spray a 400shot on this stock block :)

I agree that a 4cyl T5 doesnt really belong behind a built 5.0. But it will work. Ive had one behind my 302 for most of its life and it never missed a gear. It did really good behind the car and ran 13's no prob. The one thing that i think saved it was the lack of me powershifting it.

FYI i have used a 4cyl tranny in my supercharged 89 vert for about 6 mounths, it has seen track use and i havn't experienced any problems yet. I don't no how the tranny will hold up , with the use of slicks? I did a bit of asking around and the internals are the same, 4cyl vs 8cyl tranny, except for the imput shaft diamater, u have to use a spacer (no Biggie). As for the gear ratio its just stupid, first is useless unless u love wheel hop, second is still short, but third is a pretty tall gear. AS for price difference an 8cyl will cost u $1000 used, vs $200 for a 4cyl.

You guys are totally rigth I install the 4 cyl trany cause this past weekend we have and event and guess in the second round the third and fourth gear didnt shift and I just move my time and i was running in first , second and fifth gear and i won is not awesome, i was the first qualify with a .003 reaction time, so in the semis i run alone . What i do i blow to tranys in less than one week, did i got to go for a tremec or wath. Im gone a send you some pictures that was a unique event i didnt imagine that im gone a win in 3 gears the car was running 12.85 in good shape and 14.80 in the 3 gears.
