Pathetic HP from a 95 auto.

I just got my AFR catalog in the mail the other day and they dyno'd a 95 5.0 auto. and it dyno'd 100 rwhp, geez 100rwhp, even with a 100 shot it would be around a stock 89. Just thought I would share some information.

That is horrible. Arent those 95's only suppost to have around 215hp stock. I thought there was only like 15% loss throughout from crank to rear end. Thats more than 50% loss.

It could depend on the dyno. Some rear-wheel dynos have more parasitic drag than others. The guy I go to has to adjust by 30-31%

However, 100 rwhp seems very low. I wonder what kind of dyno they used?

Not sure, but it was AFR that showed the charts. I thought it as pretty low myself, I'll scan it for you all to see. See ya.

That wasn't how they have it in the catalog. But I thought that was really low.

LincoConti87 06-26-2001 10:38 AM

I think my Lincoln would dyno higher than 100 rwhorses with the Grandpa 5.0 that comes with 150 from factory

1BAD89 06-26-2001 11:09 AM

Yes Texas your right, 104hp was at 6000rpm, sorry everyone. They way they have it in their catalog is they have all these different dyno charts and the peak hp is at 6000 on like the surrounding ones and i just glanced. Sorry guys.

NO WAY! It has to be at 2500 rpm's. My Toyota Echo, taking the weight difference into consideration, would be able to beat it. It's gotta be a misprint.
