EFI to Carb swap on a 88

Besides the new intake and the carb, what else do you need to swap from efi to carb? Someone told me all that you need is an MSD ingnition a intake and the carb. Is this correct? Any info about this swap would be great!

You will also need a throttle cable.

You will need one from a 85 mustang gt. The throtle bracket is now no longer available from ford. You can also order a complete kit from Holcolm Motorsports, Which looks trick!!!!
Good luck

Dont forget about a fuel pressure regulator and some custom fuel line work to get it hooked up.

I went to Holcolms website but I didn't see the kit that you were talking about.

Any throttle cable from a carbed V-8 Fox body should work just fine. You'll need a different fuel pump, lines, regulator, etc. Then its just the normal carb/intake/ignition/dizzy.

Look in the tech section for more details on wiring, etc.

Hey just like 86gt mentioned you will need the obvious stuff, carb, regulator, lines, guage etc. but I found some diffuiculty finding the bracket behind the carb. Like mentioned before it's no longer available from Ford, and good luck at the junk yard. I don't know why it's not in their web-site but I included the part number: AED6601-R. the "r" stands for red. At the time the only color was red or purple. I also included a picture to help you along.
Good luck.:)

Oh yea, the bracket cost me $59.99 plus the cable. I believe it's another 20-30 bucks.
