COMPLAINT: Advertizing on this site...

When some ads starting popping up on this site a while back people were bitching, I backed it up. Nothing wrong with ads on the site, of course it has to be supported. Recently pop-ups starting coming on the site, and I stopped visiting here as much. Today I come on I click on blue oval lounge, and I am sent to a full page ad that I have to click "no thanks" on to get past. Then a pop-up loads and I finally get to the page I want to.

Im back on dialup at home due to a recent move. This is ridiculous. This site is sadly going down hill, it used to be my #1 mustang stop online, but now due to the ads I am on others most of the time. Its sad maybe Dan is just trying to milk some money out of it as it goes down the drain. I hate to be a complaining *******, but Im sure most people would agree its too many ads, I feel like I'm on a porn site.

Hey sky, been a long time!

I agree about the adds, I just started coming back up here 2 days ago and I do not see a lot of people I used to know.

I was hopeing it would pick back up again.

Good seeing you up here again. See ya!

Skyman 12-24-2003 11:19 PM

Hey Man. Hows the car, looks like youve done a few changes huh? I was shocked w/ the adds.

StangFlyer 12-25-2003 01:23 AM

I have NEVER seen the ad you are talking about. What is the ad for? There should be no such thing here. Furthermore, I am not intentionally doing anything to "milk" this site at the expense of our members.

StangFlyer 12-25-2003 01:36 AM

I found the ad you were talking about by using a different browser to surf the site. I had never seen this before, and... the ad company I use had never informed or asked if that type of ad was acceptable to be delivered here. Therefore, I have removed ALL pop-ups PERIOD from being delivered.

WoW. that was painless. Hope my dentist vist goes that easy:D

Skyman 12-25-2003 01:54 AM

Dan,
Sorry to *****, but yea that was ridiculous. A full screen add that you have to click on , well you saw it, to get past to the regular part of the site. Its too bad they pulled that on you, I retract my comments, slightly embarassed. Anyways, you'd think they could get in trouble doing that w/ out informing you first.

I still get this one. It loads when I click on MW's bookmark. Mater of fact you can see MW's in the addy bar. Upper right is the direction for getting out of it:(

Say's loading or click to skip this add. THIS ONE BITES MY HINIE.

Although I don't think this type is considered a popup. Still bites.
