How wide with the tires

I will have my BFG TA's tomorrow but will they fit ok? They are 275 60 15s on welds that are I think 8 inches wide. Can I turn the quad shocks to gain the clearence? or will I have to? what do you think?

I had 275's on the rear. But, I had removed the quads. I think you will have to at least turn the quads around to gain a little clearance. It really depends on your back spacing of the wheel.

Chris- Haven't heard from you in awhile, when did you move? How's the car running? Are you taking it to the track soon?

If they don't fit with the quad shocks, just remove them (shocks). I don't have the quad shocks on my car.

If your welds are only 8 in. wide, thats gonna cause a major bulgin problem, cause those tires are 10.8in wide......

Fox Body 06-28-2001 11:48 AM

If you putting those on the 8" wide Welds, it'll be just fine. A little bulge. Nothing to worry about. I just wouldn't put them on 7s.

So many times I have seen 26x10.5x15 or 28x10.5x15 on 15x8" (that's what most people use--from what I've seen--if they buy Welds) Welds and no real problems. I've even seen those 275/50/15s on 15x7" rims on a GN. Now that was too bulgy for me, but on 15x8 (they are "offically" rated for at least 8.5" wide rims, though) it'll be okay.

My friend has the same set of tires on his
8 inch cragars, the tread measures around 9 inches and they fit fine.
