1/4 mile
i just bought a new 2004 gt, anyone know what it will do in the
1/4 mile. I'm guessing about mid 14's. On stock street tires. |
Manual trans should be good for very low 14's (heard of some people dipping into 13.9's.)
Auto ~14.3-14.6. Some people will tell you that the stock Goodyears are horrible for drag racing, but I've personally cut 2.0 60ft's in my brothers '99 GT auto with the original 5 year old Goodyears. |
Also depends on the altitude at the track you race at. The one I race at is 3000ft above sea level and new GT's cant do better than a 14.5 @96.
|
Very good point. Weather and altitude can and do make a dramatic difference on performance.
|
5-speed is good for around high-13s to low-14s depending on the track and how good of a driver you are. Autos are generally a couple tenths slower.

The figures sound about right
|
sleeper_stang_2000 - That time in your sig is VERY impressive for a 100 shot. I imagine you are running at least a ~2600- 3000 stall w/ drag radials or slicks? If not, whats your combo for those 60fts?
|
I imagine some of that is his favorable DA.....not all of it though:D

That 1.75 was by divine intervention since I uasually spin the tires some during the 60ft. I ran on stock rims with Nitto Drags 275/40's @16psi. I have since changed the tires and rims to 15" Draglites and MT ET Streets. I haven't returned to the track because I will run under 12's and I don't have a roll cage. I plan to run a 150 shot with the ET Streets. My drivetrain is stock (no suspension mods, no aftermarket gears, no transmission mods and stock converter).

And I launch at 1,200 rpms....let the brake pedal go and gun it!
