What EFI setup for 427 Stroker

any ideas for a good EFI setup on an 427 stroker. What size injectors, MAF, throttle body, what intake, etc.
thanks

If it was mine, I'd run 9.5:1 compression, ported TFS TW heads with a holley systemax intake and a 75mm TB. 30LB Injectors and a 255lph fuel pump. Probalby a custom cam or something nice if I was going to invest that much in a motor.l

what if i decide to run a single turbo. my problem is i don't know much about running a turbo, so all the help is appreciated. i am going to start researching turbos. any ideas on a good setup?

I was looking at that myself before I went carb.
For that size cubes, it needs a large intake runner head like a Afr 225 or a TFS-R head. Volume is more important then flow numbers at that this point, due to the fact that both heads flow well over 300 cfm @.600 lift out of the box, more then enough to feed a 500 horse N/A small block. Kind of hard, but reachable with a fully ported out twisted wedge head and A L O T cheaper too!
Not to mention needing larger valves.

Then a fully ported lower intake with an Upper to match. What ever intake you get, you will need the intake manifold to flow about 15-20 percent more then the heads at the throttle body! I believe that TFS came out with a upper that has a 90 mm opening. And a 90mm throttle body. It also might be someone elses intake but you get the idea. As goes for the MAF I would get one from Pro-M.
Then a custom grind cam, because I don't believe there is going to be a big enough hyd. roller you can get, that is off the shelf.
(246-250+@.50) on the intake side with the TFS and less with the AFR head.
As goes for injecter I would say either a 30 or 36 pound injector. Dont forget that you will will need a large exhust to go with it too.(3-3.5 should be plenty. with a header in the 1 3/4 to 1 7/8)
All of the above should put you in the relm of a 6000-6300 shift point on a 10.5 to 1 on pump gas:D .

You will also need a programable computer to tune the car in.

Thanks,... I now remember why I just said the hell with it and ran a carb!!;)
Good luck with yours.

I just finished the same debate. I am going with a 331. 450hp, and I think it will be a carb. I currently have FI, but I will need 36lb injectors, mas air meter, new computer, fuel pump, new intake, TB, and all else. It will be cheaper to carb.

i have a strong 351, but was thinking about dumping it for something more. i am running a victor jr. with a 750 speed demon. i may just keep the intake and carb and sell the rest. the motor has maybe 250 miles on it. just doesn't have what i want. maybe i am getting greedy, but hey i am always looking for more.

Coast High Super Spyder intake no question. Don't fool around with long runner intakes, it's a waste of time with that many cubes.
Add a 90mm throttle body to the mix.
MAF should be equally as large.
Injectors will depend on your expected power level, based on heads, cam, etc. Probably a 36# or 42# injector.

88 - just curious as to why you would go with 36# injectors? I currently have 24# injectors on my 10:1 331 combo and have debated about going up to 30# injectors. In fact, Rick Anderson of Anderson Ford Motorsport strongly suggested that I ditch the 24's and step up to a 30# unit. I'm just curious. Thanks in advance! :)

PS - Cameron - sorry to hi-jack your thread.

450 - 500hp, plus NOS = 36lb injectors. This is also why I will carb.

Sorry, I just re-read your post up above a few spaces and see that you mentioned the 450hp number. Nevermind. :D

Remember when you convert to carb, you have to buy a new pickup, fuel pump, adapters for the line, regulator, the carb itself, a carb intake, and fab a new throttle linkage setup. IMO they're not cheaper...but on a drag car it makes sense. I would never do it on a street car.
