What would you do?
While making a service call to a customers house to fix a transmission leak, I had a very interesting proposal thrust upon me. No, not that. Clean your mind!
A neighbor of my customer said he and his father needed to clean their garage including the car contained within. So when I finished the trans work I stopped in to see this car. I was very suprised when I saw this car. The car wasn't exactly in a garage. It was more like a Three walls with a gate (no roof). He said they just want to get rid of it and I could take it for $50. Ok, the car you ask........ a '71 Mach 1. This car has all the glass intact and interior is clean (for 24yr's). Hood is rusted out bad, the roof is pushed in a little by a bunch of debris but the rest of the sheet metal is good. Exterior body trim looks complete, even the striping and Mach 1 lettering is present. Also has 351C with Automatic. My delimma is storage and money. I don't have money to start restoring it yet and my storage oprions are iffy right now. You know how I'm feeling. Everyone has been there before. I feel like if I pass on this I'll be kicking myself later. Should I take this car no matter what and store it? Should I get this car and go balls to the wall and drop other projects to get this going? Should I then keep it or go for profit? I am a little conflicted. I'm gong to check with the owner on title status. I will get some pictures to post this week also. Mike |
That is something I could not pass up if it was me. It dosen't sound like there is all that much work to be done to it from what you discribe. If anything you could always make a profit of it. You could sell it for alot more than 50 bucks as it is right now.

It's $50, I'd buy it even if it was a POS just to go trash. Buy it, then find out if it's really a Mach 1. If you can't afford to fix it you could definitely sell it for way more on ebay to someone who looks for rare cars to restore. BUY IT! Don't even think about it.

Buy it! If the title is clear, you can not loose
