wheel question

I want to do the granada disc brake swap on my car but she has the styled steel wheels and they won't fit after the swap (according to what I've read). I've been thinking about some of the aftermarket rims, but if possible I would rather switch to an OEM later model wheel (both for cost and availibility) and what I would like to put on the car would be a set of the OEM 96-98 GT 5 star split wheels . They are 17x8, and I'm concerned that they wont fit, both in width and lug pattern.
I've seen pics of a few early stangs with them, but dont know if any other mods were needed to fit them. I've added a pic of the rim i'm talking about.
Also, what would be a good tire size with them?I was thinking 225/40-50's , but if I can go wider, I may.
Help please!
Jorge

You need a set of adapters to use these wheels.

bummer, I would rather not use adaptors, something about them always struck me as somewhat unsafe. Besides for what it'd cost for the adaptors and wheels, I guess I could get a set of aftermarkets that fit.

Thanks for the info,

Jorge
