3.73 or 4.10??

I know this is a common question but I would like some opinions on the proper gear for my set-up. I think I put all my mods in my sig so please check it out and let me know. The car will see the 1/4 alot but I want a streetable gear. What RPM will the car be at about 70mph with the two gear sets? Also how much will the 4.10's improve my ET over the 3.73's?
Thanks

if you can hookup with your stick than the 4.10's will be about two tenths quicker than the 3.73's . i have 4.10's and i love them there bad *** . You will be at about 2500 rpms with 4.10's at 70mph.

3.73's!!! I have gone a 13.48@105mph on 3.73's alone, that is with the factory 215hp pony under the hood. If you can hook the 3.73's will be the best gear for the street and strip. 4.10's seem to be good for the quarter but they are no good for the street. 3.73's are the perfect in between (2000-2150rpm at 70), but with the 4.6 reving higher I think that the 4.10 would be your best bet at the drags!

I am running 4.30's in mine but I have 28" tires. Mine runs at about 2400 rpm at at 70 mph.

Haven't driven a 99+ 4.6 so I don't know how this engine feels torquewise, but since it is smaller and is sewing-machine smooth, I'd go with 410's.

sweet88 how many cars have you rode in with 4.10's? i know 2 guys, one with a 5spd, and one with an auto, they arent to bad at all, also know a guy with 4.30's and he drives it everyday, not a car to drive across tx or anything but i know 4.10's are nice, you really cant go wrong street/strip, but i will say this, my friend went 3.73 to 4.10 and he only ran a little more consistent, but his mph went from 106 to 108 in the 1/4, he's spankin stock c5's and ls1's with stock heads on the car, with e.t. streets of course http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif

The gears will be for my 89GT. I thought it was in my sig but I guess not. The 89GT has:
Cobra intake, E-303 cam, 1.7 rockers, 75mm MAF, 65mm TB, BBK headers and h-pipe, Flowmaster Am. THunder, rebuilt balanced shortblock, TrickFlow valve springs, T-5 w/ Hurst shifter, 190lph pump and adj. regulator, and some other small stuff. I will be running on MT 26x8.5x15 ET drags. Sorry for the mix-up.

I think for the 5.0 that 373's would be enough, they will still work good if you add a set of heads later.

It's a 4.6! At least get 4.10's, That motor doesn't make good power till at least 4500 or so. Get the 4.10's and get there faster.

He just said two posts ago that they are for his 89 GT, not his 99 GT!

Sorry, didn't read them all. Still I would get the 4.10's for the 89. I have them in my 87 and love them. I haven't heard any complaints about the 4.10's yet, just the 3.73's.
