Pictures?

When I tried to look at pictures in the user rides section, all I get is a "No remote Links Allowed" sign. When did this change, and how do I get my pictures back on the site?

jpeg's at user's rides?

Yup, the jpeg slots at "user's rides" are now empty for me as well. What gives?

Can anybody (Dan) answer this question?

StangFlyer 05-02-2004 01:58 PM

As long as you view the photos through the web pages (by clicking on the links to them) you should no problem viewing them. Our servers do not allow the photos to be called/viewed directly by using the direct URL to the photo. This keeps people from using MW bandwidth to serve photos on other web sites. i.e. You have to come to MW to view the ride photos or media center files...

For example, if you go to the actual web page that display a ride photos if shows fine...
http://www.mustangworks.com/cgi-bin/...dia.cgi?2542+1

But, If you were to type in the url directly to the image in your browser it would not. You would get the no remote links image instead.

When I clicked on that link I got the same "NO REMOTE LINKS ALLOWED" sign. Do I have to put my pictures somewhere else on the site, or is my computer not configured properly?

Not sure why it wouldn't work, but it must be something with your browser not sending the proper HTTP headers. What browser and version are you using? If you are using IE make sure you have it set to use HTTP 1.1 in the options. Also, make sure you have all the windows update so it is the newest version too.

LX5liter 05-03-2004 08:56 AM

I'm using HTTP 1.1, and my browser (IE) was just updated within the last month, so I don't know why it won't let me access the pics or videos. I also can not access the user rides to edit my car for some reason. It says my user name does not exist, even though I am logged on.

StangFlyer 05-03-2004 10:31 AM

You must go here to edit your ride:
http://www.mustangworks.com/cgi-bin/moi-forms.cgi?edit

Your index number is 2542, and you'll have to enter your same username and password you use for your message board membership account.

LX5liter 05-04-2004 05:43 PM

I tried that and get the same message, that my user name does not exist. Is there another way to edit my ride?

No pictures?

When I click on the link to user's rides in my sig, I do get to user's rides but the jpeg slots are empty. They were there before. My only other link to user's rides is at RHC. What do I need to do to reinstall the jpeg slots? Thanks for any help.

LX5liter - PM me the password you are trying to use to log into your listing. I will verify it.

Rev - I just clicked your link under your signature and brought up your listing. It shows all three of your photos, and they work fine man!

Rev 05-18-2004 09:12 PM

Thanks Dan

They work fine for me too. Don't know what I was doing wrong. Everything is great. Thanks.

this is slightly off topic, but how do i get a pic to show up when i post things in the message board, I mean like by my name?? Like rev has his mustang picture, how do I do that?

StangFlyer 05-23-2004 08:18 PM

It's called an Avatar. To upload one you need to go into your profile (click profile to the right of the message board horse logo) and edit your options.
