Need help getting my horses to the ground
I recently bought a 93 hatchback with a supercharged 306 DSS shortblock. Im guessing its putting out about 400 + hp but I cant keep it to the ground. Anything past half throttle breaks em loose. Ive been looking at softer springs/shocks, but am looking for someone's opinion who may have had a similar problem. If so, what brands are good and which are worthless. Email at
bedris@cox.net Thanks |
What about some sticky tires? A set of BFG drag radials or ET Streets can really help a stock suspended car that's making decent power.

Theres several options on how to hook up a bit better. If you dont mind sacrificing some handling then id do drag shocks and struts, remove the front sway bar, some good sticky tires and then maybe some new lower control arms.

You could just put some DR's on or...........
spend more and do it right |
P275/50/R15 BFG drag-radials
upper and lower control arms (I have X2C arms on mine and they work great, plus they're cheap and have a lifetime warrenty) If you don't mind a more drag-orintated suspension go with the above plus: 4 banger rear springs yank the front sway bar 70/30 or 90/10 drag struts I've got the above combo on my hatchback (except I have slicks and not DR's) and my car hooks great at the track launching at 5K, even spraying out of the hole. |
Trunkmount the battery! Lets the nose rise faster and plants the tail. Put it center back in the spare tire well. You'd be surprised what a diffrerence a little battery can make
