Raced 451rwhp Bullitt....
Well I met up with a guy from the corral last night to sell him a set of DR's I had. Real nice guy. He had a 2001 bullitt with 451rwhp, bunch of mods, vortech etc. Ran 12.1@119 with the car. After leaving we hit a light together and we launched almost even. He had a fender on me to the top of third. I think I heard a backfire or somethin outta his car at that point and I pulled back on him a little. We ran it to about 6000rpm in 4th where I was still just a fender behind him. He was pulling on me a tad, but not much at all, I could hardly believe it. I drove the shit outta my car banging every gear on 7k. Needless to say I went home feelin pretty damn good!!

Very surprising, With his trap speed he should have pulled on you hard core.

I talked to him, he did miss 3rd, and claims he was spinnin reall bad in 1st and 2nd. But he was barely inching me in 4th still.
I was dead shocked. I have a feelin he just couldnt drive that well, and I drove the hell outta my car? Anything can happen on the street huh? Got a thread goin on about it on corral w/ him. Skyler |

I was in front at the first light, and I started powerbraking it a bit, and launched it when the light went green, he was right behind me the whole way. We came up at the next light and I said, I bet you coulda just flown by me, and he said, man I was barley keepin up. So I lets well lets run em here, and you know what happened. His car went 12.1@119 on a 1.7 60' so it seems like he could use some better driving as that launch and mph should show some mid 11's? Unless something else is up. With that trap speed I was figuring to get walked all over. I was hoping for my car to run 110mph low 12's with its parts. Other cars have gone as fast as 11.7's@114 with what I have, but I wasnt going to hope for some kind of a freak car, but who knows? I'm proud of you no matter what. I'm also happy to see that you still have the Saleen. Sounds like it's running stronger than ever. Keep it.
I'm also curious as to what you use for a posi/ limited slip/ locker etc.? I'm in that dilemma right now. Thanks for any input/opinion. Rev |
Yeah I still have it. I am going to sell it, its registered NON-OP. I was drivin the cobra when I ran this race tho.

There was a dude at LA county raceway on sunday for the mustang drag day with a green supercharged bullit that ran 12.1s. I wonder if it is the same guy or not cuz that is a Mid 11 on any other track. LA county is so damn slow. How come you never go to any of the mustang drag days they have there most guys get 7 to 8 runs in when they go? I was going to take my 5.0 until i found metal in the trans pan and my CJ has a couple of rod bearing missing so i just watched.:(

ya that sounds pretty crazy, the streets a whole diff world then the track, i've seen 14 sec. cars keep up with 12 sec. cars on the street.

I G-Tech'ed my car at the track for 3 or 4 runs last Friday. I get at least .3-.5 seconds off the 0-60 mph tmes at the track as apposed to the street. Probably due to the VHT and also the 60 lbs I take out of the trunk at the track. Also drop from 25 to 20 psi in the rear tires at the track.
All that stuff must make a difference (we know it does). Still, .3-.5 seconds off at the 330 is a huge difference from street running to the track, but that's what mine does. Rev |
