87 and up intake manifold

i have an 86 mustang, and i'v come to learn from some of u that the 87+ manifold makes more hp. is it the upper or lower intake that is different, or is it both?
i can get an 87+ UPPER INTAKE ONLY with throttle body for like 25$ from my friend, will it still make a difference being just the upper?

I am pretty sure it is the Heads that are different, not the intake.

i know its the heads, 86 has e6, 87+ has e7's, but a number of people have told me the intake manifold and throttle body are different.

I belive that they are the same, just the intake plaque is different.

The heads, are the reason that the 87's make more power.

The 86 upper does have smaller runnrs than the 87+ intakes - get your buddies upper. The lowers are the same and are the real cork in the stock intake. Check the link in my signature on the potential HP gains from porting the stock lower.
