rotor upgrade

I am just about ready to install 11in rotors and calipers on my '82GT. How tough a job is this and my big question is: Can I use my '82 struts or do I need to get the '87-up units? Is there anything else I should do while I have it all apart?
Any special tools needed?

not very hard at all. http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2...rs/index.shtml
you need lots of high temp bearing grease, the install is pretty simple, you should get some new pads while your at it (duh), but you don't need anything else. read that website, they explain it pretty well.

Are you planning a disk conversion in the rear? If money permits find a junked 94-98 GT, they all have disk brakes, and it matches right up. With the disks in the back you will notice a huge change in braking distances. good luck

I am going to be upgrading from the stock 9" rotors we both have stock on our vehicles (like the 4 cylinders of all years). You will need new struts because i've heard that there the holes to the spindle line up different, you will also need the spindles for the 11 inch rotors because otherwise you can't mount up the calipers. Good luck!

If your car was an original 5.0 then you have 10inch rotors. If I remember correct, I think the 4 cylinders had the 9 inchers.
