wont start with msd hooked up???
ok i bout an msd 6al a while back and just got around to installing in anyway i didnt get the easy hook up it looked easy enought the other way. and way i hook up the ground to my starter solniod and same with my pos. and i put the the orange on pos on my coil and black on ground then red to red/green and white to green/yellow (i think yellow)
but i get NOTHING wont start. as soon as i change it around back the way it was first try starts any ideas?? |
What do you mean you "hook the ground to your starter solenoid"?
|
If you have the white wire grounded, it's NEVER gonna start. You can use the white wire as a theft deterent, if it's grounded NO SPARK. Simple.

i took the bigger blck wire and grounded it to where the battery ground is on the solenoid. is that where i should have put it??
so if the white wire is on the green wire from the coil plug its grounded?? i'll check for spark. thanks mike |
Hook the heavy black wire straight to the battery negative post. Sounds like you have the white wire hooked up right -- it goes to the dark green/yellow wire like you said.
|
ok i'll try that with the ground
ya my white wire is good thanks mike |
heavy black = (-) batt post
heavy red = (+) batt post mag pickup = not used orange = (+) side of coil black = (-)side of coil red = red and light green (disconnected from coil) white = dark green and yellow (disconnected from coil) |
