Black Magic Fan Question.

I did a search and didn't find the answer to my question.

I got tired of my fan 'cycling' with my car turned off, so I'm changing the wiring. It states in the instructions to hook one of the wires (I don't remember off hand if the post has a BAT or + beside it) to an ignition source to keep the fan off while the car is off. How large of a wire will I need? I'm thinking about using a 12 or 14 guage wire. Also, I've found a potential source in the fuse box that has power in the ON and ACC position, although it's only one-sided. Will I be able to use this as my source without frying anything?

What does everyone else use for an ignition source?

Thanks for the replies,
Jeremiah

12 or 14 is real enough. You need a low amp power source. I've plugged mine on the main under the steering wheel (with a fuse of course lol) 10-15 A
if i remember well

Here's what it supposed to look like

It won't do any damage to the wiring to splice into the existing harness?

If that's the case all I need to do is locate a power wire with the power characteristics I need and splice into it.

Jump in connector is the solution. If you want to remove in the future, this will just let a 1mm hole on the wire shield that you can easily cover with electric tape
