the taillight in the middle of my trunk

i purchased my 2000 mustang in february. it's in almost perfect condtion and i love it. the only problem is the light in the middle of my trunk is messed up. it is extremely dull on the top, it's faded gray looking and isn't shiny anymore. what should i do to it? should i replace it? or can i buff it or something like that? i was just wondering. i'm not really a car genius but i have fallen in love with my car. thanx for the help!

Try rubbing compound (3M) on it or a cleaner wax (Meguires) and then buff it with a regular wax. That should help.

I had a haze on my door (lack of shiny as you call it..lol) where my car got side swiped at the mall. I went to auto zone and bought zymol wax and it buffed the haze out. that was 3 months ago and it isnt back yet so ... mustve worked..lol
