fuel pressure.
i would like to know what kind of fitting u use on the shradder valve for a pressure gague and what kind of hose or what ever should i run?
also i am mounting it in the car thanks mike |
Don't know what fitting to use. But if you're mounting a mechanical FP gauge inside the car, that is a real bad idea. You should ALWAYS mount mechanical gauges outside of the drivers compartment, just incase of a failure you don't get oil, coolant or fuel all inside the car with you.
If you want the gauge inside the car, get an electrical FP gauge. |
I agree with the electrical, plus distancing the fuel pressure from its original location will cause variations in the pressure itsself.

lots of good points. elec in car, or mech outside. mech outside would be my choice
|
never thought of that guys thanks i'll go in side the engine bay but 2 inches out. what fittings will i need, and so on
] thanks mike |
autometer sells an isolator if you really want to mount it inside of the car i believe its something like 110 bucks though - i was going to mount a guage inside of mine but then the price swayed me otherwise. as for fittings though i cant really help you there
|
i would like to mount inside but 110$ is a little bit hight for what i would like to spend.
as for fittings i just want to run off the shradder vavle on the fuel linei just need to know what fitting to go on there. to run a guage just off that thanks mike |
fittings
Hello,
I have a VDO fuel gauge on my schrader. I don't know the size but I bought my fitting from Holcomb Motorsports, usually front page of Muscle Mustangs, it was like 9 bucks with shipping |
meknized you wouldnt happen to have a picture of that fitting wood ya i am from canada and i dont wanna send all the way to the U.S. for on little fitting.
thanks mike |
I remember buying mine from Autometer. Sorry, I do not remember the size or what it cost. :(
But I did find this.... http://www.motorsportsdigest.com/install-efgi.htm |
The schrader valve is 1/16" NPT. You will need a 1/16" NPT to whatever size barb for your hose (usually use -4AN on gauges). If you have a barb fitting that came with the gauge, it is most likely 1/8" NPT so you will need a 1/16" to 1/8" NPT adapter.
