Results from track are disappointing

Well, with the new intake I ran a best of a 12.70 @ 104....not what I was expecting but it's hard to make any judgement because it was over 90 degrees when I raced and the air was so thick I didn't want to torture the car by bringing the RPM's above the 6200 mark. Actually, running a .70 in that air isn't all that bad, but I can't make a call as to whether or not the intake install was worthless until I race in decent temperatures. I'll know more tomorrow when I head back over in the mid 70's air. I'm also going to throw a timinig light on her and see if I can make any advances in timing without hearing any pinging. However, she did lauch really well and for the first time I actually felt the driver's side wheel touch the ground for a second :D

I have the run on tape and once I install the driver's for my camera I'll update this with the run on .mpeg. One thing is for sure, and you'll be able to notice this on the .mpeg. And that is that I'm shifting into 3rd gear WAYYYY down by the top end which explains why my RPM's throuh the traps are low.

Well, I would check the timing and 90 degrees is hot for air so i would run it at nite and see what you get...

Sure will. Does anyon know how to attach clips to a post? I have an .asf clip of the run but I can't figure out how to attach it...I've never done it before. thanks.

You''ll have to upload it first. Then when you reply here, hit the HTTP button, and give us a link to it.

Is your Mustang a street driven or just a track only car?

Stang_ROTY 09-07-2004 01:27 PM

Street driven as well. I drive the car about 30 miles to and from the track. That's why I'm not too disappointed in the times, and I'm really not trying to risk hurting anything by having an aggressive tuneup.

I'm having some problems with the video clip (my PC keeps looking for a "codec" to play the file, and the website is unavailable so I can't even play it on my machine).
