High idle
 

I know this is a common problem. My idle sometimes goes up to about 2000rpms. When this happens I hear what sounds like a motor running from under the hood on the passenger's side. What exactly is this?

I'm not sure about the noise, but my idle was going nuts for a while until someone on this message board recommended I clean the (2) ten pin connectors behind the intake manifold. One is black the other white. This solved my problem immediately. Good luck.
