Miss Fire

Hey everybody! I was just wondering if anyone knows why a car missfires because every time i have it in neutral and i give the peddle a quick jab it revs up and then i hear backfire out the end. Its not like its a extremly loud bang more just like a gargle. I just got a new X-Pipe W/ CATS on because my old cats were shot, but it still had the problem before i got them replaced. My Gas Mileage has also been pretty bad, but i was thinking it was from the bad CATS and not my spark plugs mabey. My car also shakes a little while in idle. If anyone knows what might be wrong information would be helpful. Thanks

NORMAL.... Its a performance vehicle not metro.. pops are normal with cat back exhausts.

This is true only not all cat back exhausts pop and backfire.

Hence not CAT back exhaust, but X-Pipe W/ Cats and stock pipe and mufflers from the CATS back.

So did you check to see what your timing was set at?

Its normal man.. maybe running a bit lean. but its normal, the baffles in the mufflers cause it. I would not worry about it at all.

Sounds like it's lean to me. What do the plugs look like after a fast trip around the block?
