interior ?
ok here goes a good one to start. after running codes for paint trim etc... it says interior on my 66 i am starting on should be standard style in parchment w /palomino trim so just which parts would be parchment and which palomino i would assume from this door panels seats kick panels in parchment ? what is good source for books to get to really know which pieces or areas are what for color with this combo and what should dash cover be to be correct type of information. sat with friends and girl friend and decided the lighter color would be nicer then the black interior someone installed.
althought color on exterior isnt correct i think i am going to keep it i believe is the emberglo paint from checking paint chips at car dealer here ( original was sahara beige ) and the truck with motor and tranny for transplant i mentioned in previous post is here. motor starts and runs very nice and it is dura spark no oil leaks or burning noticable at all. so now to get down to business and figure out what goodies i will need to install it in 66 stang such as different motor mounts headers electrics etc... so any suggestions for websites build books or personal experience let me know what i might want to be looking for. |
Here is a list of the interior trim pieces, I don't know if you have the standard interior or pony (deluxe) interior, so I am going to put both. This comes from How To Restore Your Mustang from the Editors of Mustang Monthly Magazine.
Group 1 is Parchment. Standard Interior: instrument panel, steering column, steering wheel, kick panels, windshield post, sun visors, metal door surfaces, quarter trim panels, 2+2 overhead moulding, console, Rally Pac. Deluxe Interior: instrument panel, steering column, kick panels, door panels, console, Rally Pac. Group 2 is Medium Palomino Iridescent. Standard Interior: crash pad, radio speaker grille, lower windshield moulding, door panel, arm rest pad. Deluxe Interior: crash pad, radio speaker grille, lower windshield moulding, windshield post, sun visors, metal door surfaces, quarter trim panels, 2+2 overhead mouldings. Hope this helps. This book is old, it was published in 1983, but it is a good source for paint codes, disassembly, and reassembly. I have referred to it for years. I think it is still available through California Mustang Parts. |
Me too
I use that book also. It's a good reference.
