Power locks?
I'm going to be going out to the scrap yards in a few days for a couple of bits I need, and was wondering what kind of voltage the door lock actuators ran off. Can I just hook them to a 12v source to test them? or do I need a resistor?
Thanks, J |
Re: Power locks?
You can test them with a 12v. power supply without a resistor.

Re: Power locks?
Hey what scrap yards you going too?
I use "Jasper Jones" over in Jefferson County, they are honest people. . Also Hillbilly Auto parts in Kodak, gotten a few good deals here too. Both are about 5 min from eachother. And are near the interstate near exit 407 and 412. |

Re: Power locks?
Frank,
Actually I called Hillbilly yesterday, and they said that they had the HVAC unit I'm looking for (after the last few days, the heater is going to be fixed ;) ) and I'm hoping they'll have some of the odds and ends I've been needing but too cheap to buy new. Where is "Jasper Jones"? I'm assuming its out on 40 toward ashville, but I've never been out that way. Is it a "u-pull" or a parts store type setup? Thanks, Jorge |
Re: Power locks?
Its on the same hwy as Hillbilly, (25/70.) Or, once you get to the interstate (407 ext.) Go toward Ashville. Get off at the 412, 5 miles. Turn left (over interstate)about 1/2 mile you hit a stop sign at 25/70 again. turn right its about 1/2 mile on left, cant miss it. Entrance is on 25/70.
25/70 runs parralell with the interstate, it was the old interstate. |
