clutch talk

my HD ram clutch just burnt out again after only like 6 months, and im pretty sure its not me burning the basterd. So im taking reviews on clutches. Im thinking about either a Centerforce (which i heard great things about) or a Zoom performance clutch, (i just came across).Any others i should look into?

What sort of driving do you plan with your car? If you are going to be running a good amount of power (350+), I would recommend a Spec Stage III. They are a pluck design, so the engage will be rough, but the holding strength and reliability of the hook up is worth the sacrifice. Plus if you do any racing with the car, most 'stock upgrades' just don't last.

i have a centerforce II, even though my car is near stock, i love the clutch. it grips 60& more than stock, if i was you i would get the centerforce duel friction clutch, grips 90% more than stock, is around $300-350 and have heard nothing but good things from people that have it. let us know what u decide and good luck

I am interested in feed back on the life experiences of individuals with the clutch set-ups for 500 hp stoker small blocks. I just picked up a 5.0 5 speed car and gonna drop my stroker motor in it and am curious as to which clutch set-up to run. So any more comments would be great. Street driven cruiser with ocassional track times for curiosity only.

Stage Three
High-clamp pressure plate, 3-piece disc with carbon or ceramic material, bearings and a tool.
ULTIMATE STREET/STRIP CLUTCH!
Sharp but smooth engagement with light pedal.

I'm seen MANY 10 second cars with this clutch. They kick the ass.

I think the SPEC Stage 3 or 4 is an awsome clutch. So is the Centerforce dualfriction is good too. My dad has a stage 4 spec my cousin has a stage 3 and before this new clutch my dad had a dualfriction although all of them have exterem pedal effort. Oh and my freind has a Cobra with a KB at 21psi and has a stage 3 and it holds up nice. the cobra has about 550 untuned horsepower.

Everything that I've read has me pointing towards a spec stage III for my setup.
