lines from carb to manifold?

I'm putting a new edlebrock 600 carb on a 289, it has an electric choke. When taking my old carb off, I broke the steel line that runs from the choke housing to the exhaust manifold. The other line that runs from the top of the carb to the manifold didn't break but it is close to it. I was wondering if I even need these anymore since I am now using an electric choke. I can't really see how the lines go into the manifold, but I can tell that they aren't screwed in. What should I do with these two lines? Can they just be removed and the holes plugged (will the holes even need to be plugged on the manifold) or do I have to try to replace them?

I have 3 1966 Mustangs, all with that exact carb. You can either plug the hole or cut and crimp it low. That is used to warm up the choke with a manual system.
