HELP NEw AT THIS/radio and clock issue
 

hello guys and gals..... I just got a 95 gt 5.0 a month ago...... when i turn my lights on my clock shuts of but flickers from time to time when im driving..... My big problem is the fact my car came with a tape deck of doom :( I went to a car audio place and they want 1000.00 to install a system that is basic due to the fact that the mach 468 or 4 something stero is the bastard of all systems.... i dont have a better solution but i know that 1000 is a bit ...ok way overpriced

well the car has to be rewired and i have to get 2 amps to push all 8 speakers..... im stuck... i am bidding on a cd player out of a 95 gt on ebay... hope i get it

You can run a normal CD player with a Mach 460 sound system. I've seen it done many times.

If you want to ditch the Mach system it's pretty easy to rewire the car, you don't have to get new amps, you can just run the speakers of the head unit

well how to i run a line to the amp from the cd player? For that matter where the hell is the amp lol? :)

So all you want to do is replace the head unit and leave the rest of the system as it is?

Just use a plug like this

thanks man... Now the clock issue 265-616 #124 mike..... my clock stays on during the day but when i hit the head lights it shuts off.... then it flickers on from time to time

I also have a '95 with the same clock problem. I popped out the clock pod and removed the connector to check for voltage at the connector. With the lights on or off the voltage on all the appropriate pins was present...my conclusion is a faulty clock.
My solution: remove the clock and install some gauges. My radio has a clock and I need some gauges anyway.

thanks man... ill probly do that in a month or so..... But i have a question about getting an 80mm throttle body..... i can only find 75mm..... if you have info let me know

one more thing... i have redone my pipes with dual flow masters with 2 and1/2 inch pipes, with an x pipe and cut my cats off.... After a 100 shot of wet NOS and new throttle body what else can i do to up the horse power without getting a blower.... Oh yea i have cold air induction also..

I added a set of Edelbrock Performer heads ...what a difference!! The heads have the 1.90 in intakes with a 3-angle valve job.
After a while i installed the Ford E-303 cam. I have an Automatic (a mistake on my part when I bought the car) and the cam does hurt low end but above 3000 RPM it pulls great to about 5900.
I also have the usual mods: underdrive pulleys, 3.73 rear, headers, Cobra intake, 73mm Mass Air, 65 mm Throttle body, 1.70 roller rockers and high flow cats but the biggest difference was in the heads. By the way the 1.7 roller rockers made a noticeable difference above 2800 RPM. I instaled these just before I installed the cam.

so headers hu? well i can get some shorty headers for 195.00 but people around town want to charge 300.00 to install them.... seems kinda bull shit for a few bolts...... can you not lift the car on a jack and undo the headers?
