Nitto 450"s?

I'm going to be replacing my tires here shortly, and need some opinions.
Currently the car has Kumho ecsta 712's, that I got from tire rack. I gotta say, for what they cost, I'm impressed, they stick well, are excellent in rain, (which we seem to get a lot of up here) and even held up nicely to the car sitting for nearly 2 years:(.
Anyway, a guy I work with put me in touch with a friend who quoted me like 94 a tire mounted and balenced for a set of nitto 450's. Looking around on the web, they didn't seem to get too many good reviews, and most were from import drivers.
Anybody with a 'stang ever used em? Obviously I'm not looking for ultimate performance, but for the buck, the kumhos were pretty good, and work out about $50 cheaper, w/o mounting.
(BTW rain performance is obviously important for me, and most of what I saw for the nittos was "less than glowing")
Suggestions?

Thanks
J

What size?

Im looking at a set of 245/45-17 for 400$. They are BF-Scorchers sp? It was a discontinued tire. Great looking tire, half auto cross, half normal looking.

This place also has other brands of tires but mostly for 16/17 inch.

Talk to Thomas at Performance Parts and Sales. 865-484-1944. See what he can set you up with. Tell him Frank with a Factory Five Cobra sent ya.

Atleast compare his prices. O-yeah, this is a Mustang Salvage yard with LOTS of goodies. Has some great deals.

D'OH!
Actually, I just ordered another set of Kumhos yesterday
Thanks for the referal tho, I've been trying to get out to a salvage yard for a while, but all the ones nearby (hillbillies and another one I cant think of) are closed on sunday (the only day I have enough time free.)
I'll check them out :)

Thanks again,
J

That place I mentioned is about 4 miles East of Hillbillies. Easyest to get off at the I40 exit 412. Go left over the interstate to the stop sign, 1/2 mile? Go left on hwy 25/70 for maybe two miles, on left side of road.

cheers

Re: Nitto 450"s?

Thats actually a decent price for mounted/balenced. I had a place in Knoxville that would have done it for 10 a tire, and alignment for 40, but I wasnt comfortable driving that far on my first "eyeball-alignment".
I ended up using 5 oaks tire, they were more expensive, but at least they realigned the car the second time for free after the "tie rod issue" was sorted. :o
