90-2.3 Cooling fan won't come on. Where is fan relay?

'90 2.3 auto. Cooling fan won't come on. Fuse o.k. Put 12v direct to it & it comes on. I'm guessing the next thing to check is the fan relay. Where is the relay located? I have no idea what they look like.

My manual only goes back to 94 but it keeps refering back to a CCRM module check for the fan. It is located on the fan shroud on earlier models. Hope this helps.

Where the power connects to fan is a simple connector. No kind of relay there. What did you have in mind?

I have the same problem on my 88. Check the coolant temp switch, and the AC/Fan controller under the driver side dash, should be a big black relay lookin thing on the left side. That turns the fan on when the coolant switch sends the signal that the coolant temp is over a certain amount. The fan is also supposed to come on if the ac is turned on. So maybe you don't need to check the coolant switch. Just turn it on and see. If it works, it should be the coolant switch, if not. the controller might be to blame.
