1.6 roller rockers

How do I install stud mount roller rockers? I have hydraulic roller lifters and cam.

I believe that you need to take the heads to a machine shop to have the studs inserted.

Correct, the pedestal needs to be machined and retapped for the stud. The FRPP catalog has the appropriate information that your machinist will need. IMHO, its a worthwhile upgrade. Stud mount rockers certainly are easier to adjust and maintain proper valvetrain geometry, especially if you're changing cams, milling heades, or anything else that affects the overall geometry.

Very easy. What I do is start at #1 cylinder. I rotate thr crank until the exhaust valve is depressed, then I know for certain that the intake valve lifter is on the cam base circle. I tighten the adjustment nut slowly with my figers while rotating the push rod with my other hand fingers. As soon as I feel any resistance to the rotating, I then turn the adjusment nut 1/2 turn tighter and tighten down the lock screw with an allen wrench. I then tighten the adjustment nut a little tighter with a socket wrench to really lock it down. Not too much though, you don't want to break the stud. Then rotate the crank until the intake valve is depressed and do the same thing to adjust the #1 exhaust rocker. Same technique for the rest of the cylinders #2-8 and you're done. Sounds harder than it really is. Really just a 15-30 minute procedure.
