electric choke connections
I am finished installing my new edelbrock carb and just need to hook up the electric choke. The instructions are really vague but its just one wire. I am just not sure if it goes to the forward or rear starter solenoid bolts. I think they're marked "i" and "s" or something like that? I guess I'm not exactly sure if thats where it connects but thats what I have been told. Anyone have any past experience?

Re: electric choke connections
Also, in what order should my new elec. ignition be hooked up. I now have to connect three wires in place to where there were orignially only two and am not confident that I assumed correctly.

Re: electric choke connections
OK, sounds like 2 issues here.
As to hooking up the choke, I actually ran mine to a "keyed-hot" wire in the wiper switch (iirc an orange wire, could be different per app). As long as the keys on, the choke has power. For the ignition, what exactly are you refering to, a petronix, or an entire ign system? We need more specifics to comment :o Hope it helps, J |
Re: electric choke connections
Wire the choke to the rearmost small terminal on the solenoid. That will give juice to the choke when the engine is running. Should be the "I" terminal, "I" being for ignition.
The electronic ignition should have instructions with it. If you don't have those instructions, go to the web site for that manufacturer and download them. Or just call the manufacturer and ask for verbal instructions. Rev |
